Contractors carry payroll between progress payments, finance trailers and compact equipment, and sometimes need a line of credit for materials. The contractor and construction financing page covers the sector in detail.
Restaurants and food service

Restaurants in Wilson County, NC run larger than most local businesses: only 26.3 percent of eating places had fewer than five employees. Common funding needs are kitchen equipment, walk-in coolers and POS systems through equipment financing, plus working capital ahead of an opening or a renovation.
Medical and dental practices
Wilson County had 127 ambulatory health care employer establishments in 2023, including 29 physicians' offices and 18 dental offices (U.S. Census Bureau, County Business Patterns 2023). Practices typically finance treatment chairs, imaging and practice software, fit out new rooms, and bridge the weeks between treating a patient and receiving an insurer's payment.
Retail and wholesale
Retail is the county's largest sector by count, with 320 employer establishments, and wholesale adds 112 (U.S. Census Bureau, County Business Patterns 2023). Both buy stock before they sell it, which is the job inventory financing is built for; stores opening downtown also finance fixtures and fit-outs.
Outside these sectors
Businesses in other sectors can still call to ask, and partners decide case by case. Our lending partners have not confirmed agriculture or trucking, so we do not arrange funding for farms or long-haul carriers. The Wilson, NC page has the full county profile.
