Business counts for small towns come from the Census Bureau's ZIP Code Business Patterns, which count employer establishments by the ZIP code of their address. A ZIP is not a town: most of the ZIPs below reach far beyond the town limits, so each figure is labeled with its ZIP rather than the town name. Distances are straight-line miles from our address to the town's Census internal point. Figures are for 2023 (U.S. Census Bureau, ZIP Code Business Patterns 2023).
